The Fall

The greatest gift
you ever gave
was the heart you saved
with the whisper;
“You inspire me”
That night I fell
entranced by symmetry
into the well
you had dug for me.
How sweet the fall
how timeless the space
the eternity,
of the stillness…
...silence
between our breath imbues
as the wind rushes by
whistles in my ears
pulls open my eyes
to shed the tears for you.
I fall too fast
into you.
but I know this is real
this is true.
And I’ll give it all
I'll fight the past,
to hear the call,
once more.
